cyera vs. Verax

The Cyera alternative built to secure AI

Cyera is a strong data security platform and its Browser Shield brings real-time AI prompt control to the browser. But AI usage is mostly outside of the browser.

Verax secures all AI usage, be it from desktop or mobile apps, embedded within SaaS tools, agentic, or within the browser.

And as a product built from the ground-up for AI, it’s depth of visibility and controls are unparalleled across tools.

Data Security, Built for AI

Beyond the browser

Cyera's real-time AI control is limited to browser-based AI usage. Verax secures AI from the network, so native desktop apps, code assistants, embedded AI, and mobile are covered too.

Deeper coverage per tool

Cyera is a DSPM platform extended to AI usage. Verax is purpose-built for AI usage, seeing every interaction down to the plan, model, connectors, and file access in play. This allows you to prevent free tier usage and control access for each identity, including agents.

Nothing to install per device

Like Verax, Cyera has no endpoint agent, but its AI-usage control still rides a browser extension on every device. Verax enforces from the network with nothing to install, and you add an endpoint only where you want it.

FAQ

Isn't Cyera's Browser Shield enough for AI usage?
It’s better than nothing, but as it only covers browser-based AI, it doesn’t solve the need alone. AI usage isn't only in the browser. Native desktop apps like the ChatGPT and Copilot desktop clients, code assistants, SaaS-enabled AI, and mobile all fall outside a browser extension. Verax covers them by securing AI from the network, with nothing to install per device.
We already use Cyera for DSPM. Why add Verax?
Cyera's platform is great at data-at-rest posture and classification, but not built to prevent AI security challenges in real time. Verax is purpose-built for AI usage at the network layer, covering the devices and apps a browser extension can't reach and going deeper per interaction, down to the plan, model, connectors, and files. The two can be complementary: keep Cyera for DSPM, add Verax for AI usage.
