HARMONIC vs. Verax

The agentless alternative to Harmonic

Harmonic says endpoint agents are best, but you know better. While endpoint agents have their place, you shouldn’t need them to secure your workforce.

Unlike Harmonic, Verax secures AI usage from your network, no endpoints required (though they are available as an optional component, you want it).

With predictable per-seat pricing instead of AI-usage-based pricing that can grow endlessly, giving Verax a look is a no brainer.

AI Data Security, Without the Agents

Easy & agentless

Verax secures AI usage from the network. No browser extension or agent to roll out, update, or manage across every device. Add an endpoint only where you want it.

Covers everything, everywhere

Native apps, embedded AI, code assistants, browsers. Company devices or personal. Remote or local. Contractor or in-house employee. If its traffic crosses your network, Verax sees it.

Local

This means your data never leaves your network, while Harmonic sends interactions to its cloud to scan them.

Predictable pricing

As a local solution, Verax’s costs don’t scale with your AI usage. This means you get predictable per-seat pricing as opposed to the exponentially scaling costs of growing AI usage.

FAQ

Doesn't a network-layer tool miss my remote employee on a personal laptop?
Every model misses the device nobody can install on. You can't push Harmonic's extension or agent onto an unmanaged personal phone any more than you can push an agent onto it. The difference: if that device is in your network, Verax covers it with nothing installed, and you can add an endpoint where you genuinely need device-level reach.
Why network-layer over a browser extension or agent?
AI usage isn't only in the browser. It's in native desktop apps, code assistants, and AI embedded inside SaaS. A browser extension sees the browser; a desktop agent adds the desktop, but only on devices you can deploy to and every endpoint agent adds risk. Verax's network layer covers all of it out of the box, with nothing per device, and keeps inspection inside your own infrastructure.
Is Verax’s solution network-layer only?
Verax offers an endpoint agent where you need deeper security, but understands that most devices don’t need this and the pain of maintaining an endpoint will only slow your team and company down.
How can Verax offer predictable pricing?
Unlike solutions priced based on AI usage, Verax keeps your data completely local, meaning it doesn’t need to charge more as your usage scales.
